Qualifications:

 

College hours, high school diploma or GED  

Professional, friendly, polite demeanor

Handle confidential information

Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills

Proficient typing, word processing, and file maintenance skills

 

Primary Purpose:

 

Serve as initial contact with patrons, parents, and others through telephone communications.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1.  Handle all telephone communication.
  2.  Sort and distribute incoming mail.
  3.  Place long distance calls for faculty.
  4.  Assist office staff as needed.
  5.  Take messages.
  6.  Screen calls.
  7.  Take calls for homework and distribute to teachers.

Equipment Used:

 

Personal computer, typewriter, printer, copier, and fax machine.

 

Working Conditions:

 

Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions.
